"Thanks" falls pretty well short of what I, we, this country, owe the folks that have served and continue to serve to protect our freedom and ways of life.

In a lot of ways, I am just now beginning to see how insulated most Americans are from what it means to serve and have your life put on the line for the sake of another, for the good of all. I have recently had the chance to meet some truly remarkable vets and have been moved by these interactions more than I can say.

On the lighter side, I am currently working with a former marine. In honor of the 234th birthday of the marine corps (11/10) and veterans day, he talked me into splitting a bottle of Jim Beam and doing 234 push-ups.

Everyone shows respect in their own way I guess.

Thanks to those that have given their all so that others may live.
