Again, hindsight is 20/20. Now we know Hasan probably should have been chaptered out. But if he hadn't committed his murderous crime, he'd just be another retired Army officer with poor performance reports and posts on a blog. But the conservatives want to use hindsight to make Hasan the victim, the Army the scapegoat, and encourage xenophobia. Why do you guys hate our army so much?

But for the sake of argument, let's say the Army had chaptered him out. Then what? Do you really suppose he would have changed his murderous mind? Or does the possibility exist that he could have gone on to recruit others for a bigger crime? No one knows. Just like no one knew he was going to kill 13 people until he pulled the trigger.
