Before I die, I'm going to do a trip or 3 to SE Alaska......your report confirms the need to do so. I'm as jazzed by the scenery as much as the fishing. All those pristine, tree-covered inlets and islands, flat water (compared to the ocean anyways) ; it would be crime not to experience it.
