I'll drift and float fish the plastic worm rigged this way, with good results for both presentations. Some say the plastic worm rigged this way does not present very well for drift fishing, but I have experienced the fish respond quit well to the drifted threaded non-traditional wacky style plastic worm. Rigged this way, the plastic worm will not scrunch on the leader, which is a real plus rigging the plastic worm this way.

Another non-traditional plastic worm wacky style rigging I'll use for float fishing is rigging the plastic worm on a barbed collar jig head. Mounting the plastic worm behind the jig head on to the barb, through the center mid-balance point, usually just off center mid-point. This non-traditional plastic worm wacky style jig rigging, is an excellent presentation for float fishing.
