Long time lurker, first time poster here...
I am looking to get into the stillwater fly fishing gig, and was wondering if any of you experienced fly fishers had a recommendation for a sinking line. I was thinking probably a type 2 uniform sink. Couple of questions. 1) Is a uniform sink line better than just a normal sinking line? 2) Would it be worth it to get a clear, or camouflage type line? Also, I have a 5 weight rod and had someone recommend that I overweight to a 6 weight line. Is that necessary?

I live in North Bend so will probably be fishing Rattlesnake lake this summer, and I'd like to hit some of the more famous eastern wa. lakes this spring. Thanks for any replies, and tight lines!
