I enjoyed watching him, and Ken, and Edgar, and Randy back in the day. Can't say as I've watched a lot of M's baseball since, though I enjoyed following their record tying winning season a few years ago without a lot of big-name players.

He would have never stayed here because he is all about the money.
Its okay to be all about the money, but what turned the fans against him was when he said he wasn't just about the money, that his next team had to be about winning championships too. Then he signed with Texas, soley for the money, and he lent his name to the campaign to lure Boeing to relocate in Texas. It was all downhill after that. His contract almost ruined the Rangers too and it was a major reason that Hicks had to sell the team.

I will say this about Arod, love him or hate him, I would have loved to have him in my duggout during the 2001 playoff run. The M's needed a little more firepower that season to go all the way and he would have provided it.
