Potential shame can usually be avoided with a broad head black Sharpie, electrical tape or a rainbow sticker...equally as helpful is an awareness to handling the rod in such a manner that the Hardy is always visible.

I have no idea what the newer Cabela's rod's performance levels or asthetic qualities are, but the price point is definitely appealing.
Guess I'll make a call to Lacey and see if they have them in stock.
