My advice would be to pick a teqnique and master it before you try another. Jigging,trolling,and mooching will all catch salmon. I'm a die-hard moocher,and have gotten very good at it,but it took alot of time on the water to figure it out.

If your new to salmon fishing,I'd try trolling. You can cover lots of water if you don't know where to fish,and after your set up you can kick back and wait for a bite. There's less dogfish to mess with also.

Salmon fishing can be tough for a begining fisherman,but if you stick with it you'll love it. cool
