I had some wheels like you described awhile back, and they didn't work as well as I would have liked, especially in mud, sand or soft ground. I ended up getting another type which have much larger soft inflatable tires. Can't remember the brand, but I think they are made in Washington, maybe on the penninsula. The company name is "Innovative Products" or something like that. I think they also make a trolling plate for outboards. Anyhow, I think that the inflatable balloon tires are the way to go. They also have easy to use brackets that allow you to swing the wheels up or down, out of the way, and can be used with the boat upright, or upside down. I just leave mine down all the time, roll the boat into the water, and when i get back to shore, jump out of the bow and pull the boat out on the wheels and into the pickup. Good Luck
