Re: fishing (and catching!) with things you made, it is a pretty awesome feeling. For me it is more than just using something I made, it sort of represents a culmination of skills, experience, knowledge, and actual handicrafts that when met with success, is very personally rewarding and satisfying on many levels. Cool to get to share that with your pops as well.
