Took the boys out to our favorite little opening day lake. We caught a number of trout, up to 4 lbs, and one 6lb steelhead. Ryan hooked this steely, but then decided it was fighting too hard, so he handed the rod off to his brother. This was the only fish we kept.

The only time I touched the rod was when I baited the hook. The boys did a great job of tag teaming this fish.

We used it all. Wedding rings, gang trolls, Canadian wonders, and even some flies. Gotta love living near a steelhead hatchery where they plant the excess fish in the local lakes. It made for a number of suprised kids today.

Anyway, the weather was about as good as one could ask for, and it was nice rowing around the lake with 40 orther boats. As you can see from the smiles, the boys had a great time.
