There is NO estimate of U.S. known or even possible reserves that could significantly affect world prices. Ergo more drilling will not help. We might be able to become a lot more self sufficient if we can find more uses for natural gas, which is abundant.

Bottom line is Bush was only responsible for higher gas prices to the extent the unnecessary war raised supply worries. Obama is only responsible to the extent increasing tensions in Iran have cause worries about supplies. In fact domestic consumption has dropped significantly under Obama, which would matter, if oil was not an international commodity.

Gingrich saying he can lower gas to $2.50 a barrel is pure fantasy.

As usual, your opinion does not mirror the facts. Did you blame Bush for the housing melt down? If BP is selling oil to Brazil for 5 bucks more, then other oil companies are getting the same price and we pay it whether we like it or not. Fact is, its sold to various refineries, if they dont have their own here. Just because you have not seen a US estimate of supply, does not mean one does not exist. Rumor is, that Obama wanted to eliminate the paperwork on the supply estimates of oil supply. Finally on that point reserves is the Strategic petroleum reserves, which apparently the WH cant make up it mind about pumping. When BO says we only have 2% that is the reserves, not whats in the ground. Reserves are in case of emergency, which does not exist today. It was created under Carter after the so called oil embargo. What ever amount of reserves is released will be replaced at todays cost and it will cost a lot. We have plenty of oil, but Obama wants you to take the bus or the train. He push the Solyndra deal thru and it was already estimated that it would fail. I dont give republican a pass on ethanol either, which should have been squashed under Reagan.

When oil hit 145 bucks a barrel, Bush signed an executive order for oil drilling and the price of crude began to drop. Obama has not allowed any new leases, and did not reopen the gulf, as he said he would. All the oil being produced is under bush permits. One report gave Bush credit for the Bp gulf well. The bakken shale is on private land and they run 24 hours a day. Gas prices have been this high before and they went down. BTW, when a politician says he cant do anything about gas prices, ask him what he means, cause they are usually not talking about crude prices. Drilling for crude produces natural gas from the same well. Natural gas prices in the US are not priced on the same market as NG prices in foreign countries.

Both side are guilty, when an unemployment report goes down, because a bunch of people stopped looking for work, or a bunch of jobs disappeared from the market place, you have to admit, we are being played. When they dont count rising prices in several categories of private purchasing, in order to decrease the COLA of social security payouts, its just another game. Neither side ever did much complaining about insider trading. They didnt do a thing about insider trading, until the book came out.

For the most part, this is all about the election. Abortion? No longer hot. Guns? not hot enough He and democrats want wedge issues. War on Women? failed. BTW I predict minimum wage will be revived again before the year is out. All you have to do is read the headlines on the whiner web pages like MSN and AOL.

Go ahead and attack my sources. I can dig up the video of Donald Trump handing F. Chuck Todd his [Bleeeeep!] on cable for misrepresenting Trumps words and actions. Its you guys on the left that hang on every word coming out of liberal media who admits they vote for democrats and like hanging with democrats. If dems got half the scrutiny that republicans get, we might actually get better results. How many questions did Obama get about Bill Ayers? Hannity admitted that Hillary Clintons people fed him information about Obama during the campaign, because they could not get the media to run it.
