I bought a nifty little 597 in .22 mag a few years ago. Nice little package, light, mounted a 3-9x40 scope on it, and with some work, I was able to print some "okay" groups in the 2" category with the stock trigger. The stock trigger on these guns can be quite heavy, mine breaks at about 8.2 pounds. This was a problem.

I solved it! I bought a target hammer from Volquartsen custom. Man, what a difference. It breaks at just under 2 pounds. I haven't had a chance to head out to the range just yet, but I am looking forward to some smaller groups.

For those of you that also own 10/22's, this company specializes in aftermarket barrels, triggers, receivers, etc. If you own a 10/22mag, you will even be able to get a barrel in .17 Hornady Mag some time this summer.

Here's the link.---> volquartsen
