Thats cause you're talking to stubborn ol men who still hunt with an ol 25-30 or similar gun with iron sights. If you can drive nails at 300yds(just an example) and your gun carries enough energy out to that point for the animal you're pursuing than I say shoot if you have a good shot.

I know you're young Curtis but don't let them ol duffers get you down. They don't know it all.
