I have a lot of experience painting. enamel would be what I would use, preferably fast drying to avoid runs. Paint co. are somewhat regional so I do not know what is avaliable for you. when I was doing it commercially I used Rodda non yellowing enamel, oil based.

If you want to get hard core take them off the hinges and get outside or in garage. take lath strips and tack them together in a zig-zag manner standing up.

I used a Titan 440i with appropriate tip. you might be able to do it with one of those wagner setups.......
