I am pin bone remover. I usually filet and freeze; then when I cook them I remove the pin bones with a small set of needle nose pliers before the filet hits the grill.

Sometimes, if I am really tired or in a hurry I cut the strip off that contains the bones - but that's sloppy.

Fish bone caught in the old wind pipe, swallow some olive oil.

I was working the Puyallup Show one year and took a walk over to a Smoke Salmon booth and put a hunk of it in my mouth, chewed then swallowed. I got a bone stuck in my throat. Did a lot of coughing; had a hard time talking, but eventually it slid down. Not long after that I asked a Paramedic what they do, and olive oil is the trick.
