Nice little tool ther Coley. Looks similar to some knives i have attached to our bcd's. Have not dove in a couple years, might need to reassign them. What is helicopters short hauling?
Since we are talking safety, well Fly obviously has pussy on the brain, which I can't blame him for. I myself have contemplated whether steelheading or sex is #1 on my list. If I was still single and had to chase the pune I am sure I would give up a fishing trip to get some, but since I've been married for nearly 25 yrs I don't let that get in the way of chasing stelhead.
Back to my question. How many people honestly wear a life jacket at least most of the time while fishing from a riverboat? And those that do, what kind of pfd are you using? In all honesty in my boat we keep them at the ready and put them on when comming into some hairy water. I have considered getting the self inflating collar type pfds in hopes of being able to fish comfortably while still having some protection from drowning if something should happen. I know we would not have donned our life jackets prior to the downed infamous alder on the nooch. In fact we did that drift several days prior to the first boat going down and thought nothing of it. If it was our oar lock that had broken, we could have very well been one of the downed boats.
