I'm looking for a person in or around the Tacoma, WA area who would like to be a mentor to a lowly old (well kinda old, I'll be 30 by the time you read this) who wants to learn how to tie flies correctly. I can't quite afford to pay for lessons, and I prefer more the one on one attention. I can tie a really shoddie fly, enough to catch fish with, but I'd love to learn how to tie a nice fly for salmon/steelhead, and also tie up jigs too. I can exchange lessons for float trips if needed. It's just something I really would like to learn. I've tried to sign up for TU classes, but everytime I've tried I either get "sign up now please" or "you really should be a TU member". Any help would be appreciated, I'd even be willing to pay as long as it's not to expensive. I just want the basics. I learn best with hands on rather then reading a book or watching a video. Kinda like fishing, you learn more by actually fishing then reading stories about fishing. Any help would be appreciated.........thanks
