Good day.

I have been doing a lot of reading in regards to which lines are best for float fishing, the criteria being very buoyant and east to mend. Most articles I have read have expressed that some of the new lines (for instance Berkley Crystal Fireline) are the way to go, however I just picked up a book on jig fishing where a respected author has recommended mono with a float and jig combo when using a level-wind.

Looking for some thoughts on winter time steelheading with a float and conventional reel, would you opt for mono or a buoyant braid?

Thank you.
