Back from Manson last Friday. I fished a bit. One morning I took my paddleboard north from Manson marina about a mile, to a rocky outcrop. Clear water and I could see lots of fish down there. Caught a smallmouth and a pikeminnow on a lead-eyed minnow pattern on a sinking line. Then I paddled back.

Me and my dad tried the Methow near Carlton "Mediterranean of the Methow" one morning. Caught westslope cutts, "redband" rainbows and a bull trout. All on hoppers. If I go back I want to float it, the Methow is just a little too big to wade. The fishier spots were tough to get good drifts over, with a boat we could have caught a lot more fish. Beautiful spot though, lots of fun.

Mostly I just laid around the pool like a lizard on a rock watching the kids swim.
