I just got this from a friend in Montana. These two were found near Drummond. They were barely alive by the time two archery hunters came upon them. They both shot one, put their tags on them and ended their seasons early. They reported that couldn't get the antlers untangled even after the elk were dead.

I wonder how good that meat was after the elk had struggles almost to the death while in rut?
