A competent machinist can make a living working in many industries, but those industries will likely play ball just like Boeing does, so this is something you'll face throughout your career.

I know Boeing provides you the ability to further your education on their dime, and this might be a good time to look into that and expand your skill set so you are better able to shift gears and stay gainfully employed.
