Went to the Carbon...fished my 5 1/2 hours...only saw 6 others out there...Water level was up a little...color was stained brown with good visability!
There were a couple trucks at the bridge where it crosses the Puyallup...a couple cars up near the hatchery...I fished in the middle...just in Orting!
I spoke with a guy who has fished the Carbon for 50 years...raised in the Orting area...he was drift fishing...said there's no fish. He said what so many people are saying on the rivers...the rivers are in trouble! He said he normally can get 20-30 fish in a season...this year only a few!
Talked with another guy that uses PINK and GREEN glo Maxima line so's he can see the line in the water. Cool idea! He had a couple rods on his bike, rigged with bobbers...seemed to know what he was doing. He said the fish haven't shown up yet too!!! He was thinkin' like I was, that the rain would have brought them in!!!
Nice day out...just had a few sprinkles...floated and drifted...tryed a spoon...lost it on the rocks!!! Nice movement in the water though!!!
I'm focusing on reading the water now!!! I need to learn that one!!! The old timer had a good spot. Big logs over in the water...boulders edging out from the bank...Quietish flow! I stayed out of the water for the most part this time...didn't want to scare any fishies if they were there!
When are these Nates gonna get here???
