"Hello,

You can use regular detergent or stain removers such as shout without harming the Gore-tex. Just use the washing instructions on the garment. Be sure the detergent does not contain bleach or fabric softener and you should be good. The outer coating will help shed water and can diminish with regular washing . The jacket should be washed on occasion to prevent oils from our hair and skin from affecting the Gore-tex membrane. If you find that your jacket is not shedding water as well anymore you can reapply this coating using a product called Revivex. This should not be necessary for a few years unless the jacket is washed frequently.

If you see that the water is beading fine then do not worry.

Here is a great washing tutorial that works for any Gore-tex jacket:

We have had good results with regular detergent. Woolite is gentle and is what I use.

Careful with the dryer and be sure not to overheat, I would check it frequently.
