Finally closed the deal on buying the boat from my employer.

I looked at several sources to establish market price for the boat, trailer, motors, and electronics.

I exchanged emails with a guy at boats.com. He found a 2006 Wooldridge, with the original 115 hp Yamaha, and the single axle EZ Loader trailer. It only had 200 hours on the chassis/engine. With a bunch of extras, it sold in Bellingham for $26.5K

I also exchanged emails with a salesman at Wooldridge Boats, where we originally bought this package. They concluded that is was also a mid-$20s value.

After very little negotiation, I offered and my employer accepted $15K.

Now I need to get new vinyl wrap and do a major housecleaning on the boat.

But, for now, I've just experienced one of the two happy days in a boat owner's life.
