This is 100% the correct answer. I tie a 3 - 4' top shot directly to my braid and use a swivel at the spinner or jig. I can swap either lure in a split second depending on the water. I can also reel all the way to fish without worry. They are not line shy so 20 - 40 lb shots do the trick and help pull up wood when stick fishin'.
