I was his catcher my senior year in HS.

I clearly remember watching him swing a bat for the first time.

Coach asked me, "Where would you place him in the lineup?"

"In the 3 spot of course," was my immediate and simple answer.

"What will Brian (our best hitting senior who batted #3 the previous year) think about that?"

"I think Brian will see a lot of fastballs in the #2 spot!"

Which he did on our way to the State Championship game. We lost that night but he led the mighty Saints to the title the next year!
