For those of you who have not bothered to read Carlson's press release, I would like to quote from point two of his four point salmon recovery plan.

2)Harvest: Remove all nets - tribal and commercial - from our state's rivers (all freshwater) and compensate for lost income.

The last time I looked, the only non-tribal freshwater net fishery in this state was in the lower Columbia River, and I would think that by now we all should realize that the Governor of the state of Washington is not going to be able to do diddly-squat about changing the terms of the Boldt decision concerning tribal fisheries. In other words, if you think that John Carlson, if elected, will have any significant impact on commercial netting, I've got a bridge I'd like to sell you.
