My white privilege started with 2 parents in the home that stressed education and hard work. Then it was start at the bottom and work your way up. One of my brothers paid for a welding course to become a certified welder in Oakland Ca over 30 years ago. Three quarters of the class was made up of people of color getting paid to take the course. Most of those students sat on the sidelines smoking cigarettes and bs'ing and not partaking in the opportunity while my brother pretty much had the teacher and materials to himself. Was that white privilege?
