The Seattle soda tax will work about the way a soda tax in Philly worked out.

The distributors will pass it on to the retailers. The retailers will pass it on to the consumers. The consumers will pass on it and buy their sodas out of town.

Because there aren't enough soda sales to keep the soda delivery drivers busy, the distributors will cut their hours or lay them off.

Seattle won't see the tax revenue it was hoping for, so it will snivel about greedy distributors trying to make a profit and not being worried about fat kids.
