Banki - If you're interested in fishing hardware (spinners/spoons) for winter runs, I would stick to anything that's large and silver plated. Vibrax spinners come in silver plate. Mortac (mail order) also has a good selection of silver plated blades and bodies if you're into building your own spinners. Use the #4.5's or #5's for winter runs. You could go up to #6 if the water is deep or off color. A 3/5oz or 3/4 oz. silver plated spoon is a good choice. Work either spinners or spoons along the bottom slowwwwwwly. But the most important factor is reading the water, which only comes with on-the-water experience. But that's the fun part......

Bill Herzog's books on Spoon fishing and Drift fishing both have a lifetime's supply of information for around $16. Can't beat it. Good luck.
