Heck, I've been of the opinion for years that the US should simply annex Mexico. It would solve the illegal immigration problem by making all Mexicans Americans, so wherever they are, they would already be in America and not have to cross the Rio Grande any longer.

Ya' know, for all the imperialism that the US has exercised without ever acknowledging it, it's stupid that we never invaded and took over Saudi Arabia. Coulda' done that back in the 1930s when no one was looking and no one would have cared. Coulda' had the oil, stolen fair and square. Instead we set up one family of camel jockeys in golden opulence and make them trazillionaire dictators with one of the worst human rights records on the planet. How stupid was that?
