I will be out on the rivers around Forks for a week during the end of Augest and I was wondering what are the best flies/sizes/colors for the low water conditions out there for salmon and steelhead.

For steelhead Black Brown or Grey stone fly nymph size 4 to 8.

For salmon I havent had much luck but ive caugt a few on cone head pink bunny leaches with lots of pink tinsil drifted or stripped.

Good call Rich ... many of your sparser std. summer patterns should suffice well for your summerruns.

The stcked salmon that'll you encounter will be a tough grab regardless of your offerings on any type of rod in most cases. Try a weighted black or fuschia bunmny leech (yest, lots of tinsel on the fuschia) and strip it through the slack areas. Try to impart some vertical motion on the fly and sooner or later one of them will awaken for you. Good luck!
