I caught my first saltwater fish yesterday. Just a bass about 4 pounds. What a blast on a seven weight. I'm totally hooked on it now. The beauty is there on 20 feet from shore. Fish on!

Also you can target Sea-run Cutthroat, resident silver salmon, and migratory salmon from many of the shorelines in the Puget Sound. Wait, on a second glance, I see you are from Ireland. Look around, if there are some points near where you live that are near a river with Atlantic Salmon runs, at certain times of the year you might be able to hook one in the salt. You just need to know when and if the salmon are reachable from shore. Try some large orange shrimp and baitfish patterns.

Ya, thats what I was thinking but believe it or not they don't even fish for salmon over here in the salt. Not sure why, someone said it was a numbers thing. Just to hard to find'um really. I've never seen any jumping in the salt. Although there were some chromers in a nearby river today but no luck. Some of the lads have hit pollack and in august the mackeral come right up to your feet.
