What's the ugliest fishing you've ever done?
I ask this because I frequently fish the Cowlitz. Beautiful river, but where there are lots of fish, you can expect fishermen in large numbers.
The bag limit of steelhead is up to 3 fish. You will see everything that float go by.

Second would be the Kalama in the fall. shoot

I've fished somse crowded rivers, but I don't necessarily consider that ugly fishing. If I expect a river or lake to be crowded or find that I'm fishing around crowds, I adjust my expectations accordingly. I've fished a few crowded places were the behavior was quite civil and the mood jovial. If it isn't, I don't linger for long. I've fished the Cowlitz a couple times this summer, and while there were plenty of people around, I didn't experience anything I regarded as intolerable. But then I don't hang around Blue Creek, either.

Sincerely,

Salmo g.

Fished the Cow the last couple of days. I was able to get "away" from the other people and still get fish (closed person 10 yrds away). I've also fished Hoodsport for chums and will never go back, there are just better places with no people at them. Fishing from a tube/pontoon/boat or the beach north of town for pinks can be good here with lots of room.
