Well I finally got my hands on a copy of Les' new book Fly Fishing for Coastal Cutthroat. I was really looking forward to it since I have worn out my copy of Fly Fishing for Pacific Salmon and have checked out Searun too many times. Anyways, the books is definately worth a read. It seems to be a continuation of Searun. The book gives an overview of the different major rivers/Estuaries from California to Alaska. This would definately be helpful if you are planning on fishing for SRC when travelling. I live in Kingston so I have plenty of SRC fishing surrounding me. The book also goes into analysis of river fishing, lake fishing, and saltwater fishing (which is where I focus most). I also found the information on the species not only interesting but very helpful when thinking about what has helped my learn about how to fish for SRCs. Another major section of the book is the chapter on flies from the different regions. The best part of this section is the fly tiers notes. How to tie the flies and also how to fish them in some cases.
The pictures and stories about fishing local Washington areas with local fly fishers. It was nice to read about guys who have helped me learn how to fish the salt on this website, such as Leland and of course Les. Well I hope one day to see these guys out on the salt catching fish and enjoying SRCs as much as I now do.
Great Book, keep them coming Les.
