You fellows have seen all of my flys on other boards well except for the new ones I am tying now, maybe in a year or two I will divulge them after I have fully tested them.

Are you hinting that the first one is the infamous "Cop Car"?

That is one version of the copcar, my favorite is articulated with less maribou. Fishes better in faster water I think. The infamous Dennis Dickson fly...

Finally H2H after 2-3 years of stalking steelhead fly fishing boards I have seen the "Cop Car", well I hope I have, is there a person that can second this is it ?
Well off to the tying vise.
I have lots of white marabou, and that color of flashabou, etc..
Finally all the pain is over with. LOL
Cheers

Brian - Your version of the infamous "cop-car" looks very much like a version of Al knundson's white marabou streamer. As I recall one of his variations had chain bead eyes and red throat though it did lack that blue over wing. He often tied this streamer on 2/0 to 7/0 hooks and created this fly in the 1930s and 40s.

Yes Smalma is correct
White Streamer - Al Knudson
1935 - 7/0 carlisle hook, originally developed on Rogue River, Oregon by Mr. Knudson, cross reference to the Trey Combs book - Steelhead Fishing and Flies - pages 111 and 112, a big write up on its history and application.
Designed for high dirty water, 6-7 inchels long in length, etc.
I fish white bunnys that imitate bait fish, but they are not 6-7 inches. Long. BTW, white streamers have always been good for stream trout and the andramous species.
I have been fishing white marabous since I was a kid, 40+ years ago.
So gentlemen are we now sure this is the real "Cop Car" ?
Cheers

I wouldn't want to copy a pattern from any one and give it a name and say it was one of mine own paterns.
The red is on the top and the blue, green was on the bottom.

Did you ever do well with it ?
I will tie some it and give them a go, need some more white marabou streamer types anyway.

and sometimes they will hit ANY color !
Well I guess this is it, went and checked his web site, had not been there in a while, I see all flys have pictures now, but the Cop Car but it must be the while one in the Winter fly box selection, like the one above.
Now there are two tied in my fly box ! To think I waited 3 years for this moment !
Cheers

The question is not knowing what the Cop Car looks like, but on how to fish it. As told to me from Dennis himself during an awesome guided trip.
Peter <><
PS: I know it shouldn't be a big deal posting a pic of the CC, but I wouldn't of posted a pic of it out of respect for Dennis.

KK Me Too! Look through some pattern books and you might see the CC in them under a different name with someone else name on it
