I am going to stick my neck out for those who know me to jump on. But I need some help I am finding tying size sixteen and smaller a royal pain Its not just my eyes as I have great magnification I am using 6x for sixteen I can eventualy get the eye threaded and then after a 18 inch tippet atach to a six lb floracarbon leader and so on but to ty this in the field will be a real pain in the but, The only thing I have tried is pretying them and puting em in a pips leader dispenser, Do you guys have a better solution. Thanks fer any help. Glenn

there are some fly boxes that are made with a little wire threader in the middle of the box. perhaps investing in a box like that would be a good idea.
two other things are to make sure the eyes of the hooks are cleaned out and dont have any glue in them (duh) and dont bite your leader. This flattens it out and makes it wider than if you just use a pair of clippers which makes a nice clean tip.

Thank D3 for responding, no glue or head cement on these drys I was once told by a friend that it would make them not float as well so I just put a couple of half hitches on and callit good . Is this ok or am I mistaken? The fly box threader sounds good who sell them? Glenn

are the eyes clear of all debris as well?
I put a little on but usually just one dab of thin head cement and it doesnt affect anything.

i am not sure who sells them.

spectakle, wannacut, whitstone, palmer fish, blue, chopaka aeneas, these are the ones the group will fish. I have never been there but my brother in law has a mens church fishing retreat. I couln not resist. the old reports on washinton lakes. com sound good. will take the canoe and a pair of hip boots ( not to be worn in the canoe} just in case I see a stream that needs to be checked out.
