Went out this morning with a friend and had one of the best cutthroat days of our lives. Many, many fish in the 14-16 inch range and we landed 3 fish that were 20+ inches. Almost all of the fish came on olive/white clousers or angelhair baitfish patterns. we didnt lose flies, but they sure got destroyed by all the fish.
I did encounter one situation that i had not seen before which was schools of cuts sitting on the bottom and refusing to more to the fly. Even if it was dropped on their heads. I am thinking that they might have been already spooked and trying to just hide but some of the smaller fish around them would take a fly. I am going to try some heavy scuplin patterns on them next time and see what happens.
Once i get a few photos ready i will post them up. smile

David, thanks for the great report. It is good to hear about lots of healthy SRC. I have had fun catching Coho on a floating line up in Whatcom County. There are lots of fish aggressively feeding on the surface. Hopefully the rain this week will bring some Coho into the center sound that will hold and feed for a while instead of bolting up their natal streams.

sorry i havent got the pics up guys... my laptop is busted and i dont have them on this computer...

Peter- we have been doing both. Boats just give you easier access. But 99% of the cuts i catch, i could reach from the shore.
