There has been a secret re introduction of Wolverine on the North Eastern Olympic Peninsula,, in my neighborhood there have been several sightings over the past 15 years,, clearly there is a breeding population... First known sighting in 2014 by me,, last sighting by a neighbor about 2 months ago,,, several sightings in between by all different people.. Many of the sightings have been road crossings,, a few back yard sightings and the most recent eating a live raccoon next to the road...

Clearly different animals due to time span and different markings,,, the one I saw was all dark/reddish the one seen recently was dark brown with white on its tail.. The one I saw looked to be about 25 lbs...

Department of Fish and WIldlife has known about it since before 2014,, they said that they swam over from Vancouver island... No known incident of them targeting livestock or pets for food... They are living close to people and farms without known incident which is interesting...

Are you sure they are Wolverines and not Fishers? Been working on Fisher reintroduction for a decade or more and they have been breeding. Also putting them in the Rainier area where I saw a large male a few years back.

Wolverine for certain,, no question... They have been seen very up close by myself and others... I have discussed it with Fish and Wildlife and they were aware as of 2014 but not oficialy confirmed...

this one is at Long Beach WA,, Pacific County from 5 years ago..

Wolverines, fishers (both non human and human), Grizz, and wolves.

Next we’ll be here swapping stories of the OlyPen’s Wild Hog introduction (s)...
