Mostly MA 11 matters & relaters but with some bleed over from lessor relevant south sound marine fishing areas such as MA9, 10, 12, or the southest MA number 13...

BTW, the Salmon fishing & catching for The “11” is heating up, and no, not meteorologically speaking, and here is our second report.

Yesterday was a shritty tide sequence to fish, with a clear full moon all nite, and a little ole tide change to try at first lite. But you take what’s given. So, on the water at 4am. About zero trailers at the boat launch with plenty of parking , and we were 3 rd place in the launch que.

My bud and I hit our “ma 11” big fish limits within the first hour. Two hatchery kings, (one Pitt tagged ), and two larger fish released as wild.

BTW, speaking of seals, watch out for the little harbor seal that loves you at the boat launch docks. He’s a pretty bold little guy and try’s to snag your fish as the fish checkers are looking over your fish.

Sneaky dude hides next to the dock and sneaks in next to kicker motor for a go as you hand the fish to the checkers on the dock !

King fishing was lites out yesterday- again. Great morning bites, with half clipped, and the other half non. Brought it two yesterday morning, one checked at 29.5”, and the other at 34”.i

Then we were notified that today, Friday the 14th the wdfw wonder crew, shut down King retention for MA 11 until further notice.

Reason stated was -To many new fisherman are using too small of lures to catch kings, and therefore killing too many shakers. Come back next week for coho they told us all at the launch, because the folks up in MA 10 / 9 were starting to see some nice coho showing , so fishing should start improving here in Tacoma - Maybe after the next rains....
