hit the water sunday 6:00 and went right to the boundry line. saw one caught by 7:00 and was it. nothing by 12:00 tried a lot of change up's, went back to mag. warts and at 1:30 fish on. big fish... 35+..thirty min. later fish #2- 22# ya ....after yesterday's 4200 should only get better. I would like to say everybody worked well with each other. lots of boats but managed well, make sure your warts track true or you'll catch fisherman rather than fish..weather sucked!!!!used 6# power pro.... great stuff!

Can you get a drift boat in the Wind River?

Is there a drift upstream of the mouth?

Thanks pat_herbig@yahoo.com

You can use a drift boat out at the mouth with a 6 to 8 horse kicker on it.As far as
drifting the river it's self I wouldn't try it myself. It's a fast river up stream.Good luck,

Spike, there is NO place to put and drift boat in the Wind River unless you are fishing the mouth. Well I suppose there is one area right above Beaver Camp Ground you could put in but you couldnt take it out again until the mouth and theres some nasty class 5 and 6's and a Shipard falls before you would get there. This would be the Death Drift. laugh laugh laugh

MetalHead there is a take out,the boat will be there but the captain and passengers of the boat will be lodged in a rock garden or drop in the canyon. Unless you are a kayaker, I would not attempt. cool

Spike-you do see guys at the mout in driftboats with a kicker.

round two - tuesday - lite on boats about 30-35 and lost 1/2 of those by 10:00am. hooked two boated one. lost one on being stupid.I think you learn more on the dumb mistakes than anything else. cooked it on a cedar plank. if you don't know what that's about you owe it to your self to find out. saw about 10 fish caught.
