I have made an agreement to accept an offer for a regular every issue column in a major fishing magazine. And I have agreed in principle on a book publishing deal for The REEL TRUTH. I now have deadlines for my first column soon, and essentially a deadline for finishing my book manuscript for the publisher. The publishing process from there takes 6 months to complete and have for sale at outlets and publisher catalog (way longer than I would have thought). So foy you skeptics, yes there is a book on the horizon smile . I am also starting a fishing video project next week with Scott Kappes of the Hot Tamale Outdoor cable TV productions. This will now put me into overload timewise. So I have communicated with Bob that I must relenquish my moderator role here. It is very time consuming for me, and the 2 mod' roles I've had has actually been the biggest reason I haven't finished my book. So ...

... I will stay in my role here for a bit to give Bob time to decide if he wants a replacement moderator. After that I will be an active P.P. BB member that accesses about every other day or so for short intervals. Feel free to ask any fishing tech Q's of me you feel like and I will give you my 2 cents worth as soon as I see it. Bob is such a good guy to work with, and I thank you Bob for this opportunity and all you have done for me. I will be around to help as much as time allows. Take care and thanks for all the support given to me. - Steve Hanson (RT)

RT, I'm sorry to hear that you won't be taking as active a role on this board in the future. You are one of the few people on this board who I tend to agree with about 99% of the time. Your insight will be missed. Good luck with the new job. I guess it just goes to show that a guy can still make a living doing what he loves. You're one lucky S.O.B. wink

Thanks guys. And Zo', I'm not going completely away. I will still be posting contributions semi-regularly when I find the time. ...

Also, I forgot to mention that the Fishing Tips Contest with prizes is still on thru May 20th. There are some very good tips in there and we all appreciate it a lot. I will go in soon and take any ordinary ones and copy them over to the Tip Dumpster thread smile .

Good luck with everything, I will have to give you a call sometime soon or email me to go fishing. It's something we have never done yet, and with both of our abilities I think it would be a lot of fun! Anyhow best of luck and stay in touch for this summer run season, it should kick off real soon here on the NF lewis and we will take my boat and do some free drifting!

Good luck in your ventures!

Hurry up with the book because I know Osprey needs some new crapper reading material to replace his outdated issues of Livestock Monthly. :p

Actually I would like to take the time to express how I really feel about RT. I feel a bit sheepish about revealing this, but RT is my hero! He's the only hero I've ever had. He's awesome at everything. I don't know how that's possible but it's true. I have put up pictures of him all over the inside of my trailer where I live. There isn't a minute in the day where I'm not thinking about him and what I could do to be even just a little bit like him. If I ever turn gay, a strong possibility, I will be beside myself looking at his pictures. Hey RT, you doin' anything Saturday night? Please give me a call. Please!? Sorry to get so mushy here but I can't help myself! - HEY_YALL

'Yall, Os wouldn't need so much crapper reading material if he didn't enjoy sitting in 'honey buckets' for really long periods of time laugh . BTW 'Yall, you still cleaning those up for the county in that volunteer program? eek Just remember you guys, I will have a little more latitude for comebacks on a level playing field now. Yeeehaaaw! .....

I should have mentioned that the magazine and publisher are STS mag and STS Books. My first column will be in the Aug./Sept. issue, focusing on low water techs. I can have a guest tip section in my columns, so in the first one Mark is going to do a piece on jig fishing and the 2 Mike's above are going to do a piece on using explosives in deep holes when all else fails - that's 'Bama style feeshin'.

RT, long time no talk. Haven't seen you down here at the mansion lately, been too busy fishing?

I still have to remember to send you those Shania pictures from her recent shoot. I also thought I'd throw in some Faith Hill since I know you're a fan of her too.

Keep up the good work and be sure to save me and a few of my girlfriends some room on your boat this summer. laugh

Sorry to see you give up the mod slot RT. You have had a good impact on our board. As I was waiting for this page to come up I was thinking about the changes in the tone of the board and in particular some of the threads like the "Unique tips" thread.

Good luck on your ventures.

I assume that your book in the makeing will be long on pictures and diagrams for O's and Y'all's sakes. I will look forward to seeing it.
