I know that last year was great for silvers on the North Fork. With the massive run this year, do you guys think the fishing will be even better than last year? Has anyone heard any run size predictions?

Last years run size was estimated at 35-40,000 silvers. This years is estimated at 75-80,000 silvers, basically twice the size. The only issue is the having the lack of water this year, the lewis will be running warmer and with warmer water the silvers don't bite as well. Plus, with this years return you won't be able to find a spot on the bank to stand with the millions of people snagging!

Keith is right on. It's unfortunate with record returns of fish runs this year that we are also having a drought year, with lower and warmer water. And we also seem to have a record number of snaggers that the states are seemingly pretty much turning their backs on. At least keep the zipper areas QUIET please! wink

While the return to the Lewis was great, I think the end of the season numbers were a little below their expectations. The hatchery personal told me last year they expected fish in the 18,000-20,000 range, but it was less than that. Like around 14-15 thousand. But lots of Jacks. Get your bumbers and elbows ready. Its going to be a madhouse.
