Howdy,

I just got off of the phone with Ray Croswell from the WDFW region 5 office in Vancouver with an update on the access issue.

Ray has been working on an ammendment to the original easement and it appears that Bob's (Cowlitzfisherman) efforts are starting to pay off. WDFW will shortly be approaching Wallace Gravel with the ammendment so that we will once again have access and a parking lot to park in. This will rewrite the legal description so that the new access road will follow the powerlines to the left hand side of the gravel pit area, with provisions for a separate gate. Signs telling fisherfolks to stay only on the easement road and not to enter the gravel pit area at any time will be posted at the new gate.
Should the folks at the gravel pit balk at his proposal, Ray Croswell will take the issue to the Attorney General's office for the investigation of filing charges against the pit owners for destruction of public property (mal mis), and a few others.

That's all I know for now. Ray said he would follow up with me after he has talked with the Wallace pit folks.

Andy

Thanks Andy for the update! I also talked to Ray Croswell about 2 weeks ago and was told the same thing. I am sure, with 2 people, like you and me, that bugging him will get us and acceptable answer to the problem. I will email you if I hear from him first. Thanks again for your extra effort Andy.
