Let's make this a vote for contest? As mint bright as Gregor, 'Bait, and Dave's fish are I would vote Justin's fish so far. Of course Keith is settin us up for batting cleanup with his top pics - no fair. Get your 'B' pics up first 'K', then we can all come in with our 'A' pics. And what can I say for your nash feesh Troy? Oh, I know - next time you catch a bright fish, if you can remember that far from now, don't scrape all the scales off the back and lateral line before you pose with it, so it will look more like Dave's fish pic. Just a couple for you. A nice 20+ Sky pig. A nice two-toner chromer on the Quinault: Man, this is soooo chrome there's even a glare coming off of this fish! Man, if this isn't a chromer... Nice photos, but I've personally seen the print from The Kids photo. That, by far, is the pretiest fish photo I've seen. Take The Kid out of it, and it would be perfect! My vote goes to The Kid. Darn, these are some bright fish now I'm thinking I might not have any as bright as a couple of these. I downloaded pegasus a picture sizing program and hopefully I can figure out how to use it, I'm at work now and don't have any pictures available to put up here. I've got a couple that could contest with those up here but I don't know, Kidsauk, Parker and stewed all have some killer steelie pics. Although all of them are nice. Fishbait, what a pic of that fat hen you just caught, and RT you've got some killer ones too. Keep them coming.... Keith

A contest??? Cool, I like contests! But since I have a distinct advantage by having a couple of other anglers in my boat almost every day, I'm gonna limit my pix to fun fishing only ... me, Fishgal, or relatives - almost All river caught, no cheating in the salt I like translucent fins!!! I'm gonna put up a pic of each pacific species ... sorry, there isn't such a thing as a chrome humpy or chum :p How 'bout a king - Fishgal's mom on the Kasilof River: And a silver - Fishgal at the crack of dawn on the Kasilof: Here's a new one in the thread - Fishgal and a mean sock-in-the-eye: I guess I'd better get in on this too ... how 'bout a really fat, really chrome hen on one of the most unforgettable days of steelhead fishing ever ... this on a Peninsula river. Let's see some more!!!

Some Nice fish!
So far Id rate The Kids Steelie #1. That is a Beautiful Fish! There are some nice ones but that one tops them all, its just one of those fish.
There is still one fish id like to see and thats Bob D's 40+" hen. That would be somthin to see.

NOTE: As I mailed to KS, I would love to have some of these pics to put in my book. In a few weeks my manuscript goes in and I will have to turn in actual pictures (5" X 3" or 6" X 4" prints using high tech scanners - apparently that's better than using pic negatives these days). Anyone that has a quality picture of a nice bright and/or big fish with good river or water or mountain background scenery would be good candidates. Just e-mail me if interested and I will e-mail you my regular address to send re-prints to, along with your name. I would love to have the lower 2 of your 4 pics Bob. All the fish are great but the excellant river background is important. > I've also noticed in a number of pics how the angle can glare out the lateral line and dark back contrast, which is nice to have. This happens mostly when a flash is used, as below in this pic. In a pic from Tofino, B.C. this summer you'll notice with BB member Bruce Gray's 2 fish, which were identically bright, that the one on the right that's squared to the cam looks brighter than the other which isn't. Hey Bruce, I don't remember any women on board taking pics, yet the tails were cut off. (better talk to your bro about that) Of course with women taking the pics the fishermen's heads are usually cut off. Just kidding around ladies. It's a thing my wife used to do until she figured out the cam takes a pic of what is seen thru the view finder. [ 11-07-2001: Message edited by: RT i ]

Nice fish everybody! Keith, tell James that we needs to keep his eyes open for fish pics. Even if he is good enough to catch fish in his sleep RICH G and RT, thank you for the compliment on that picture. It was used in Fishin' Holes magazine a few years ago but they didn't do it any justice because it was in friggin' black and white! Oh, well. I'd rather be in RT's book anyways Thanks again, guys. That's alright, Rooster....Keith does :p Great pics, guys(and AuntyM) I gotta say that alot of those are prime chromers, but Justin's is the best pic...so far I would post some, but the definition of bright over here on the eastside is a little different than yours Eastside Bill- "What the hell is a sealice?" Eastside Bob- "Hell, I don't know...check out this one I just landed, it's only got 3 net marks on it!!" [ 11-05-2001: Message edited by: backlash2 ]

Good God....... A fish would have to be freakin' NUTS to let a bait that looked like THAT go by! No wonder you're always spanking them down there, Keith. The fish probably fight each other all night to be the first one to taste those eggs in the morning.

Scott, Bob and Parker are the experts. Either can tell you how to post pics over to this thread. They also coraborate nicely in 'special effects' pics. Aunty M is good also. Hey Keith, that egg cluster pic is saweeet! I'm not into sushi but I'd even be tempted to eat that one. And James, I was on the phone with Keith a bit ago and he said you pee'd your pants when you caught that "trophy" kokanee too. EDIT NOTICE: If you downsize your pics to just 75% they will fit in without causing the thread to have to be scrolled to view posts and pics. It also will provide brighter less grainy photo posts that also take much less download time and server space. My $0.02 suggestion. [ 11-05-2001: Message edited by: RT i ]

James- That 21 pounds of nickel bright summer-run is my choice!!! That is one beautiful fish!!!...especially when you consider the status of native summer-runs in this state.

Now it should work. They get bigger, but not too much brighter. These are two Nestucca bucks from Sept.5 2001.

Here's a pic of my second steelhead. It was only 6 pounds, but it's a chromer. Here's a 26 pound king I caught in the South Sound last summer. And the very next weekend, I caught this 18 hen in the same place! Both salmon were white kings too. [ 11-07-2001: Message edited by: JacobF ]

I'm sure there are more pics to come. But to this point, among so many nice fish pics, the 2 that stand out to me are the Kid's steelie buck and Bob's steelie hen. They are not only brighter than bright, their picture quality is excellant too. It's part of what set's them apart from other pics of fish that could have been as bright. ... The brightest chinook pic is Steve's (fishbait's) chromer, held horizontal. But it's the sun on the chrome side and pic quality that is so nice. Notice it's belly isn't snow white as some other 'nooks are; that have less sunlight and pic quality. But hey Steve, your belly is white isn't it? Keep posting. Most of us love good fish and scenery pictures. RT [ 11-07-2001: Message edited by: RT i ]

How about some of these... Here's me with a 40lb chrome buck out of the lewis.. I love them monsters... Here's james with a chrome lewis summer run nate... Another of james with a chrome summer hatchery fish on the lewis... Oh, and yes I do occasionally fish spinners too! Love them bright one's!! And sparky that 21 lb nate that james got did kick his butt, considering he landed it on a 1141 and a 6 lb leader... If it's alright with you Keith, I will try to post a new thread to continue your bright fish pic posts. It's great to see a lot of nice fish. With so many pics in this one thread though, it is now taking a long time to download. I will call it "Bright fish pic thread - part II (by Keith/stlhdr1)". (let me know if you guys would rather keep it to one thread and I will delete the new one)
If pictures are downsized just a little bit they will fit without causing the scroll feature to kick in, and also that reduces download time.
Steve
