I have looked for white backer-rod at home depot and other hardware stores. All I have come up with is gray. Has anyone tried gray and had success with it?

I asked this question awhile back and didnt get a response, but..............I have never noticed much difference between the two of them. I have used both quite a bit too. I always figured if I wanted more white, I could add some in the yarn. For the second time..............can anyone expand on this?

what is backer-rod. is it those foam pieces. Ben

Yep it's the foam used for making rags. Many people on here have had pretty good success with just about any color backer rod they make.

I have made rags out of both and bought some too and I prefer the White ones. it looks better then grey ones, my 02.

Backer rod is what the insulators use around windows and doors.Bug them for some the white is getting hard to find.
