OK, - I have a friend down from AK, and he wants to do some fishin'.
Any reports, good/bad?
Sounds like the Kalama may blow out by tommorrow and the Cowlitz is way up.
Anything going on on the Lewis?
Thanks in advance. Email if you would rather. Dleavens@ssofa.com

The Cowlitz is not only high, it's also dirty!

Is the taste of the bait worth the sting of the hook????

Fished the Lewis all day on Saturday and we struck out. Not a single hit. I didn't meet anyone on the river that had faired any better. And It will probably start turning brown tonight or tomorrow morning. Sturgeon fishing on the Columbia might be a good bet.

Fished the Cowltiz on Saturday. Didnt see a fish caught. I gave up at noon. A friend told me today that he went to the Skookumchuck and landed two steelies and saw a few other fisherman with hook ups. Good Luck

I've been fishing the North Fork Lewis the past couple weekends. It's been very high. I think the power company is dumping water to get the reservoir levels for flood control purposes. Whatever the reason, the river is running around 10,000 cfs. I haven't been able to get anything to hit either. I've been using jigs tipped with shrimp, hardware, and eggs. If you know the East Fork Lewis, that might be a better place to go. If not, stick with the Kalama. Start at the deadline and work the major holes downstream. But be prepared for some company. It's popular.

Good luck.

The East Fork Lewis is at 1,500 CFS and stable, with pretty good color. A few (3-4) fish were played/caught below Daybreak Park today at mid-day. We are overdue for some big natives about now.

The North Fork is at 9,200 and stable, so it too should be very fishable.

Fished the N. Fork Lewis with guide Scott Aldrich and a couple of his friends.

We fished from the Dam down to Johnson flats. The only fish landed was a nice football sized and shaped rainbow trout est. to be 5 + lbs. I released it.

We saw one darker sh on the bank by the hatchery.

Don't know where all the fish went, but we did not see any. Only one other boat.

Fished the Kalama in the snow and rain..
2 natives around 12 lbs. Didnt touch another fish. I dont know where all the hatchery fish are, but still not a bad day.
Thanks for all your input.
