I have to admit, I used to have a real job like everyone else. Worked in the tackle shop part time until I had to get a real job. Worked in recieving after school and on Sundays (worked at the tackle shop on Saturdays), in what used to be (they are now bankrupt and out of bussiness) one of the countries largest furniture retailers. After 8 months, got bored with the recieving, no challenge required so I asked if I could try out sales. To my surprise they said "Why not...", eventhough I was a 18 y.o punk kid with hair sticking straight up that varied between bleached blonde and jet black. Long story short, management screwed up royally and everything went downhill. Was very tired of losing my commisions...one night I had a $8000 sale blow up in my face and walked out that night. The next day, I started working at the tackle shop full time.

Railroad carman. I work for the largest railcar owner in North America. I inspect cars for any maintenance they need.Do testing of the air brake systems, change wheels, weld when necessary, and any other repairs needed.Mainly just try to keep them safe and on the tracks. You wouldnt believe how many government agencies regulate these hunks of steel rolling down the tracks.Always somebody looking over your shoulder. I have worked 4-10s for almost 10 years,so it makes for some nice long weekends for my fishing habit.

I develop very custom & very expensive business software for some pretty notable nationwide companies, i.e. International Real Estate Co. and a very large local wholesale distibutor. Mostly 6 figure projects and mostly database stuff. Been doing computer related work for 18 years. I telecommute 2 days a week, yea I'm one of those lucky ones! Cool thread!!!

My paying job is as a lumber inspector for a Weyerhauser owned hardwood mill in Centralia, Wa. I basicaly look at Alder, Ash and Maple boards and decide how much to charge customers for them. My non-paying passion and hopefully future employment is Firefighting. I've been involved in it for ten years years now and am attemting to chase down a full time spot with some local fire districts. Either way I get the bills payed and still have enough left to fish two or three days a week so I figure I'm doing fine.
