I dunno yet GutZ. I'll keep using them and see what happens. I'm not that dis-pleased with them yet. I haven't lost a fish on one yet because of a bend...was just saying that I've had a few get bent on me. I've used some Owners, but for the life of me, I have no idea how they performed. Oh well, I'll just try not to hook so many toads. That should fix the problem! Parker

Originally posted by ltlCLEO: guys, I asked if you had ever broke or straightened a hook on a fish........... Only a jig hook, a 2/0, on a chum. Abuse mostly, as I'd tired of yarding on his 15lb. @$$ because I knew he was darker than I wanted to keep. Tightened the drag, started to walk to the beach and *pop*. Actually if anyone has info. on what kind of hooks jig manufacturers use (not anyone's jigs that are on here frequently, but jigs named after a guy named J***), I'd be interested in knowing, since the topic came up.

Yep, had a siwash break today as a fish cleared the water and sent the plug back in our lap.
For the record: the G brand.

Wow, an intelligent discussion on hooks! Those who added constructive info should take a bow. Nice job all.

Take a bow? How am I going to protect myself with a bow? First ya gotta pull an arrow out of the quiver, then notch it up, draw back, and then fire. By then the cougar's pretty much gnawed your leg clear off. Better to pack heat.

Bobber fishing tidewater of the Wilson for Fall Chinook. Hooked a monster that tried to get into the brush. Pulled the boat with two thirty pound anchors out about twenty feet then straightened the hook (9' LCI 30/30 Special rod, 5/0 hook with 40lb Maxima UC).
Hook brand didn't matter. Something had to give and I was not going to let the fish get into that brush pile if I could stop it. I couldn't.
